AN Insight: Size Selection


AN Insight will be composed of a series of blog posts concerning AN hose and fittings.  Fast forwarding through the history and specifications of the AN hose and fittings, this first post contains a brief summary of how to select the proper size hose and fittings for your application.
AN hose and fittings are denoted by a dash (-) followed by a size number, representing the inner diameter (I.D.) measurement in units of 1/16th of an inch.  For example a ‘-6′ AN hose will have an inner diameter of 6/16″, or 3/8″.  Further..

Torque for Android Review: Gearhead Must-Have App

The Torque app for your Android phone allows you to retrieve fault codes and view live engine data by connecting to your vehicle via OBDII using a bluetooth device.  Dials, graphs, and displays show acceleration (X,Y,Z axis), speed, engine coolant temps, fuel pressure, mass air flow rates, O2 volts, throttle position and countless other parameters.

Top Gear UK Season 16

Top Gear Season 16 kicked off with Episode 1 this past Sunday! (January 23, 2011).  The first episode includes May test driving the V8 Ariel Atom, while Clarkson completes one of his most practical reviews yet on the Skoda Yeti.  Also, Hammond races a falling VW Beetle in a Porche 911.  The new Stratos we covered below is also mentioned in the first episode.

Exclusive: TG drives new Stratos

Check out the amazingly good looking one-off Stratos, re-worked with a modern feel.  This "new Stratos" utilizes a modified Ferrari 430 Scuderia chassis and powertrain.  Designed and built by Pininfarina as a one-off, rumors now are of the possibility for a limited production run.  According to the Top Gear article, 0-62mph happens in around 3.3 seconds with a top speed nearing 200mph.  Follow the link below the picture for the full article and additional pictures to gaze at.
